Frequently Asked Questions

Q.   How do I submit my resume?

A.     Submit your resume via email to chris.tarango@hsala.org or to her attention by fax at (562) 806-0846.
You may also mail your resume to Human Services Association, Attn:  C. Tarango, 6800 Florence Ave.,
Bell Gardens, CA 90201.

Q.     Once I have submitted my resume, when will I be contacted for an interview?

A.  After the interviewing supervisor has reviewed the applicants’ resumes, she/he will determine if the applicant has the required experience and/or if her/his educational background meets the required qualifications.  The interviewing supervisor will then contact those who meet the qualifications to arrange for interviews.  In many cases, due to time constraints, an applicant who does not meet the qualifications for the position may not be contacted.

Q.  How long does a job announcement remain posted on the HSA website or at other locations?

A.     Job announcements remain on HSA’s website or on other job locator websites until a candidate who meets the qualifications is selected.  The length of time for the job announcement to be posted may be as short as one (1) week, to as long as two to three (2-3) months, depending upon the amount of interest that there is in a job announcement.  Typically, entry-level positions (e.g., Driver, Program Aide, etc.) will generate interest from a larger number of people than those positions that require substantial experience or positions that require a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.

Q.  What documents must I bring on my first day of employment?

A.  Most employees are required to drive their automobiles for agency business; therefore, we will need to make a copy of your driver license and your current proof of automobile insurance.  Employees who have direct contact with clients are required to have negative TB test results on file.  Some positions require that the employee be trained in CPR and first aid.  All employees must also bring one to two forms of identification for use in completing the Employment Eligibility Verification form (I-9), as well as their Social Security card for payroll purposes.  Please refer to individual job announcements for additional requirements.

Q.  Who do I contact if I have questions or if I would like additional information?
