Champions for Change is a healthy initiative at Human Services Association that will help reduce the prevalence of obesity among low-income Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) eligible populations. This will be accomplished by providing nutrition education workshops, promoting physical activity and collaborating with community partners to create healthier environments for low-income individuals and families in Bell Gardens, Bell, Maywood, South Gate, Huntington Park, and Cudahy.

Children’s Health Outreach, Enrollment, Utilization & Retention Services (CHOEUR)
The CHOEUR project is committed to educating and assisting families residing in the SPA 7 (Service Planning Area 7) region of the Los Angeles County with enrolling to no-cost or low-cost healthcare coverage programs. Our program provides application assistance for uninsured children and families who may be eligible for Medi-Cal, Medi-Cal Access Program (MCAP), Covered California, Kaiser Permanente Child Health Program, and we also provide referrals to Los Angeles County programs such as; Ability to Pay (ATP), My Health L.A, Child Delivery Program, and many others. Our staff is bilingual, trained, and fully committed to assist families with their health coverage needs.
The Rider Relief Transportation Program (RRTP) provides fare subsidy coupons to eligible MTA, Long Beach Transit, Montebello Bus Lines, Norwalk Transit, and Foothill Transit bus riders who purchase weekly or monthly passes. Eligible participants include, adults, K-12 and college/vocational students, senior citizens, and the disabled.
