Job Description

JOB TITLE: Clinical Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Family Services

PROGRAM: Family Preservation (Glendora)

STATUS: Full Time - Regular

REPORTS TO: Family/Comm Services Director

HOURS PER WEEK: 40

STATUS: Exempt

SALARY: $90,000 - $100,000 per year

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Family Services Director, the Family Preservation Clinical Supervisor provides clinical supervision, case consultation, and training to program staff. Must be available to provide crisis intervention support to staff, as needed. Works closely with the Family Services Director and Family Preservation Program Manager to ensure contract compliance and quality assurance of the program. Flexible schedule with some remote work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure contract compliance and quality assurance.
  • Provide weekly one-hour individual supervision and two-hour group supervision to staff and interns; oversee documentation of all supervision activities.
  • Track hours and documentation for associate clinical staff per California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) requirements, if applicable.
  • Provide program and clinical training; oversee client contacts and monthly reports.
  • Oversee Multidisciplinary Case Planning Committee (MCPC) meetings and plans.
  • Attend relevant meetings (e.g., County, agency, program and other stakeholder meetings).
  • Collaborate with other HSA programs, community-based agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Assist with internal and external audits/site visits.
  • Ensure compliance with agency and program policies, procedures and legal/ethical standards.
  • Assist with program billing and monthly reports.
  • Review case files for compliance with scope of work and contract.
  • Provide direct services on an emergency basis or as backup for program clients.
  • Stay current with research, evidence-based approaches and economic trends impacting families.
  • Provide crisis intervention support as needed.
  • Perform related duties, as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong knowledge of clinical skills and legal and ethical standards.
  • Demonstrated skills in working with minority populations (e.g., LGBTQ+, people of color, etc.).
  • Expertise in clinical supervision.
  • Expertise in evidence-based practices and approaches; certifications a plus.
  • Knowledge of child abuse risk factors (e.g., domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health, etc.)
  • Knowledge of child development and healthy parenting practices.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships and boundaries.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Effective verbal and written communication; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Flexible schedule to meet program standards and to support staff; available after hours.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field.
  • Experience: At least five years’ experience providing direct services to low-income and ethnically diverse clients; experience with survivors of domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health or other trauma; clinical supervision experience with interns and/or clinicians registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Licensed in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) / Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or related field by the California BBS; active status and in good standing; meets requirements by the California BBS to clinically supervise master-level associate social work and marriage and family therapists.
  • Driving is required on an occasional basis. Must provide own vehicle, valid California driver’s license and proof of full insurance coverage.
  • Negative tuberculosis screening
  • We require the selected candidate to undergo a criminal background check using the Live Scan fingerprinting method in compliance with applicable laws and regulations

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job or that an employee encounters while performing the essential function of this job.

  • Work in moderate noise levels and non-smoking environment
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds independently
  • Frequently involves sitting, standing, walking, squatting, bending, and climbing stairs (as needed)
  • Occasionally may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must be able to speak and hear clearly to communicate effectively
  • Constantly operates a computer, keyboard, and other various office machinery
  • Majority of job duties are performed onsite; however, visits to different sites may be required
  • Flexible schedule with some remote work

COMPENSATION:

In accordance with California law, the expected pay range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
