DPH-DPSS CalWORKs Home Visiting Program
The DPH-DPSS CalWORKs Home Visiting Program (HVP) is a home-based program funded by County of Los Angeles DPSS. This program works in collaboration with Los Angeles Best Babies Network (LABBN) for training purposes. The goals of home visiting are to
- support positive health development and well-being outcomes for pregnant and parenting women, families, and infants born into poverty
- expand their future educational, economic, and financial capability opportunities
- improve the likelihood that they will exit poverty
This program will provide home visiting services utilizing the Parents As Teachers (PAT) curriculum. Services will be provided to families of parents/caregivers that are CalWORKs eligible and of a child less than 24 months of age at the time of enrollment in the program. Program supports and resources will include, but will not be limited to:
- prenatal, infant, and toddler care
- infant and child nutrition
- child developmental screening and assessment
- parent education
- parent and child interaction
- child development and child care
- job readiness and barrier removal
- eliminating domestic violence and sexual assault
- mental health support
- substance abuse treatment
