The Home-Delivered Meals (HDM) program provides weekly frozen meals to homebound seniors. HDM drivers check in on clients’ wellbeing and report any concerning changes back to the program’s staff.

 

Eligibility

Individuals are eligible if they meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Older adult (60 years of age or older) who is frail and homebound because of illness, disability, or isolation.
• Spouse of any older adult who is eligible and an assessment concludes that it is in the best interest of the frail/homebound older individual.
• Adult with a disability who resides in the home of any older adult who is eligible and an assessment concludes that it is in the best interest of the frail/homebound older adult.
  • Disabled persons younger than 60 years old are eligible if he or she lives with an eligible HDM recipient who is 60 years of age or older and is receiving home-delivered meals.

Artesia, Bell, Bell Gardens, Bellflower, Cerritos, Commerce, Compton, Cudahy, Downey, East Los Angeles (90022, parts of 90023* and 90063*), Hawaiian Gardens, Huntington Park, Lakewood, Long Beach, Unincorporated Central Los Angeles* (specific areas within 90001, 90002, 90043, 90044, 90047, 90056, 90059, 90061), Lynwood, Maywood, Paramount, and South Gate.

Monetary Contributions

Please donate directly to the HDM program by mailing your voluntary contribution to 10927 La Reina Ave, Downey, CA 90241 or by providing it to the delivery driver in a donation envelope (reference the route number).

We accept cash, check, and credit/debit card. Please make checks payable to “Human Services Association” and reference the client’s name or route number.
